Our History

Sunday, February 17th, 2013 is the day we gathered at 1326 Florida Ave, NE, Washington, District of Columbia, which at that time was known as Soul 57 (Omowali’s place), to begin what we were calling our “Self-sustaining” or “Amish” Movement. From the few who continued to meet we agreed to call ourselves the Collective Health Initiative and would serve as a Wholistic HMO for Indigenous People.

One year later, Sunday, February 9th, 2014 we had our “State of the Movement Address”, at 6230 3rd Street, NW #5, which at that time was known as The Institute of Spiritual Enlightenment (ISE), and later known as the Institute for Sacred Evolution (ISE). At this meeting our Indigenous Nation known as I·AM·IT was birthed and ISE served as our first headquarters.

The C.H.I. became the health ministry for I·AM·IT and on April 6, 2014, eight (8) nationals from various indigenous organizations affirmed/signed our current Declaration of Independence Dorita Dixon Bey, Rosie Bonner Bey, Jahidaoudel Foster Bey, Mbizi Donker El, Ashep Herser Neter El, Precious MotherLove El, Silmiyah Mecca Bey, Paheru Forael Bey]. During this time at ISE we created the I.C.U., I·AM·IT Law Institute, and an Irrevocable and Revocable Trust.

In the fall of 2015 we relocated our Headquarters to the Empowerment Center, 6490 Landover, Road, Cheverly, Maryland, in which we created our first website and mainly focused on our health ministry, the C.H.I. and The Indigenous Times (our monthly newsletter).

In 2018 we relocated our headquarters to The House of Enchantment (H.O.E.), 5137 Astor Place, SE unit 1, Washington, District of Columbia, and in the fall begin having weekly meetings.

In January of 2019 we moved our weekly planning meetings to the Ascension House, 4313 Newton Street, Colmar Manor, Maryland, in which these meetings gave birth to our current Nation Structure. A legislative, judicial, and executive form of government, an updated process for new nationals, monthly socials, quarterly nature rituals, emotional support fellowship, and understanding law class.
